Frequently asked questions
General
ARS takes a proactive and engaged approach. Our systems are pre-rigged, tested, and ready for immediate adjustments as the job scope evolves. We support workers beyond just rescue, understanding the work scope from a heavy construction perspective. Our team provides full support for safe and efficient execution, including rigging systems for work tasks, managing the space, and making quick adjustments. We build relationships with the team, participating in pre-job meetings and engaging with workers on-site. In contrast, other 3rd parties are often reactive, with limited systems and backgrounds that may not fully support the work crew.
While your team might handle basic rescues, they don't practice rescue and rope safety daily like ARS does. Our 3rd party service ensures the correct equipment and techniques are used, meeting all OSHA and project compliance requirements. This allows your team to work faster and safer without the added responsibility of tasks they aren't trained for. With ARS, safety and productivity are significantly increased.
If your work involves permit-required confined spaces (manholes, pipes, tanks, vaults) or high-risk elevated locations, ARS Rescue and Access Systems is ideal for you. Our systems: 1. Greatly increase safety 2. Speed up the work process with effective rigging systems and proactive job scope adaptations 3. Reduce or eliminate the need for cranes, manlifts, scaffolding, and ladders with our rope access systems 4. Save up to 15-30% on job costs.
OSHA requires that the rescue team size is based on the ability to perform the rescue safely. Typically, a minimum of 3 technicians is needed: a hole watch/edge man, an entry supervisor, and a rescue tech. For low hazard situations, 1-2 rescuers may suffice. Medium to high hazard scopes, multiple entrants, and hot work require 2-4 rescuers. ARS can help determine the correct team size with a scope consultation.
The cost of ARS services depends on various factors such as site location, project duration, required scope, special permits, travel, special equipment, rigging complexity, and hazard level. Daily Rates for low hazard work non-entry rescue begin about 3,250/ day plus mobilization, while high hazard/entry rescue 4,750 per day. Weekly rates with discounts are available.
