For the last 12 years, ARS American Rescue and Safety has offered rescue and rope access services to the oil and gas sector in Saudi Arabia. In December 2024, ARS will hold the inaugural High Angle Mountain Rescue Class in Saudi Arabia, specifically in the Aseer Mountain Region at an altitude of 3,000 meters. This course aims to combine the streamlined rescue methods employed by the American Technical Rescue Teams (TRT) in the United States with the industrial situations frequently encountered in Saudi Arabia's Petrochemical Industry.
In Saudi Arabia, the petrochemical plants boast some of the world's largest flare towers, standing at over 200 meters tall. Traditional heavy rescue equipment and methods are not suitable for carrying out rescues at such towering heights or in challenging confined spaces. By incorporating "Mountain Rescue" techniques into industrial environments, the rescue team can efficiently conduct rescues with minimal equipment and fewer personnel.
The training aims to enhance the rescue technicians' abilities in promptly assessing anchor options, setting up rope rescue systems, and reaching workers with a minimalist methodology, all while upholding the utmost safety standards during the entire operation.
