When the Work Goes Below Grade

Vaults, manholes, wet wells, tanks, and underground infrastructure change the problem. Entry may be restricted, the space may be difficult to reach, and the route out is rarely as simple as the route in.

Access, atmospheric conditions, entry planning, communication, and rescue may need to be considered together rather than handled separately. Not every space is permit-required, but the evaluation should happen before the crew is committed. Where standby coverage is warranted, ARS can support the entry with confined space rescue capability sized to the plan.
